Living Under the Influence of my Father!

I reflect today as I joyfully view my friends photos with their fathers and read their sentiments of love and respect.  I reflect on my father.  He taught me so many things in my many years.  He influenced me in more ways than he will ever realize.  He taught me by example.  He lived a life of positivity and I strive to count blessings instead of living in negativity.

Today, my Dad's mind isn't the same as it used to be, but I still see him in my life daily in how I live my life, how I parent and how I attempt to find the positive in every situation.  I don't know as much about electrons, neutrons and protons as he did (he spent four hours teaching me everything he knew about electricity after one simple question I had in 6th grade) and I don't listen to classical music in my car. However, I appreciate his love of singing, as I enthusiastically sing every day even though I'm a little off key.  I appreciate his sense of humor as I giggle at goofy things.  I appreciate  his love for his family as I love my family to the moon and back. Then I appreciate his never forgotten love of God.  Just a month ago, he told me that Jesus loved him and we sang "Jesus Loves Me" together.  It's those moments that I treasure as I know that my Dad still has his priorities on the Lord.

I love you Daddy!  Happy Father's Day!
